When I was 20, I had a plan to have a $1M by the time I was 30.
I reached 30 but missed the $1M mark by just a little under $1M. In order to make up for lost time, I targeted $10M by 40.
On my 40th birthday, I was still somewhat short of $10M but realized that I could get back on track if I made $1B by 50.
I'm now 56 and pondering my next commitment. My new target will be a last-ditch, hail Mary, all or nothing bid to own Google, Apple, Ali Baba and a significant portion of Dubai.
On the other hand, there are only 5 countries in the world that are debt-free. The US is over 17 Trillion in debt, and Canada about 1.2 Trillion.
Simply by maintaining my current zero bank balance, I may already be overachieving.
Wealth, is all a matter of perspective.
